Georgia is such a fun-loving, down to earth, beautiful young lady and it was a blast getting to spend time photographing her again. Not too long ago she was used to gorgeous long locks of hair and so generously blessed it to use for a wig for children fighting cancer. This totally called for a follow up session for her to remember her new, shorter-but-just-as-sweet style! That inner beauty of hers radiates no matter what length her hair is! xo
This is Georgia ... full of life and oozing musical talent, smart funny and has a heart of gold. It was wonderful getting to photograph her and her beautiful long blonde locks the day before she had the chop to donate her hair for wigs for children fighting cancer. I know how she and her parents love her long hair and admire them for encouraging her to be such a blessing to someone else! And yes she is looking just as beautiful sporting a super cute shorter style! xo
We were blessed to head to South Africa for a few weeks over the festive season and during that time I was able to squeeze in an engagement session with Werner and Liesel. The rain came but we managed to wait it out and then go exploring before the sun set for the day - a little mud and squelchy shoes didn't hurt. It was wonderful getting to spend time with you both - Congratulations again Werner and Liesel! xo
A rainy morning could not put a damper on the enthusiasm of the lovely Merrett family. We had fun exploring Fort Langley, making sure we had a stop at one of the brothers' favourite parks along the way. They were all such great sports and I am sure the boys enjoyed their well deserved hot cocoa when they got home. Thank you again Merrett family, it was fantastic spending time with you! xo
The dear K family decided on a Christmas tree farm for their family session which was SO FUN! It was a beautifully warm morning at the amazing Fernridge Christmas Tree Forest. These two super cute brothers were so full of love and had a great time adventuring together - and of course, making time for cuddles with their incredible parents in between. I had such a blast with you K family, thank you again! xo
This week I was challenged by my lovely friend Stacie to post a black and white image per day for five consecutive days. It was a lot of fun to play along and share more images of some of my amazing clients this year. Here they are in no particular order xo
It was birthday time for these two brothers and I was honoured to be there to capture it for them! Their wonderful parents sure know how to put on a super fun party. Loads of energy was exerted by all the children - and of course, delicious snacks and cupcakes consumed! xo The cupcakes were made by the talented Meg of Cupcakes and Friends.
Taslim is such a sweet and genuine professional. She has a fantastic blog that you should totally visit! The link is here. Her and her family were so warm and hospitable. It was a lovely evening celebrating the life of their Nanimaa who was turning 90. As I arrived to their home it was just bursting with the joyful sound of festivities with family joining together from different parts of Canada and the world. Their dear Nanimaa was being doted on with love throughout the evening. Seeing all the generations talking and giggling, playing, and sharing a delicious meal together was I'm sure priceless for her. To top it off there was an amazing cake - totally has to be a birthday cake right! Thank you again Taslim xo
The season has definitely changed and we have been having a lot more rain. The up side is that it means more puddle jumping fun for the munchkins! xo
My parents are off on an adventure. They headed home to beautiful Africa this week. Their journey started off in a way they most definitely were not anticipating: a bomb scare on the plane followed by technical difficulties on the replacement plane which all resulted in hours of delay. As frustrating and worriesome as it must have been for all concerned (including us waiting and wondering what had happened), I am so grateful for the staff that put the passengers safety above time frames and pressures as well as those that diligently searched to prevent the plane taking off with explosives on board. I am grateful for my parents who have landed safely, even if they were exhausted. And as you can see from the image I have more to be grateful for ... baking time with my little guy, making cookie planes. I'm hoping you all have a wonderful Thursday xo
The change of season has been evident this last week. The leaves are changing to warm shades of yellows and reds... The clouds have been lingering more and the rain falling. This has all meant more time indoors and any excuse to bake is welcomed, especially when I have little helpers in the kitchen with me. Since having children I have been more mindful of food and trying to incorporate healthier options where possible. When I came across this quinoa brownie recipe I had to try it. It was very yummy and packed full of goodness. If you give it a try let me know, I would love to hear what you think! xo
I know I have been so slack with my regular Thursday blog posts but I have been just as grateful, perhaps even more so. The past few weeks were just wonderful. I was blessed to have my mom visit and we loved every moment of having her. Living so far away from family is not easy but it sure does make us enjoy the times we do have together even more so. Thank you mom for an amazing visit and all the photos! We love you xoxo
I had to blog some more images of the incredibly beautiful and glowing Casandra. The session was primarily about their beautiful Fall fairy, miss E, but we had to of course take some maternity images as well. Pregnancy most definitely agrees with Casandra! She is such a lovely person and it was wonderful getting to spend time catching up during their session. Their littlest one is due really soon and I have no doubt is going to be showered with love and embraced with joy with such wonderful parents and big sister waiting eagerly! Thank you again Dancocks family xo
It was such a treat getting to meet with this wonderful family again. The last time we met was for little Miss E's maternity session all the way in a snowy Edmonton. Who would have thought the next time we would meet would be for a family maternity session in another province! An overcast, but warm Fall Saturday morning at the fantastic Willow View Farm was the perfect setting: pumpkins galore, apple orchards, farm animal petting zoo, hayrides, and more pumpkins. The star of the session was the adorable little miss E who is soon to be a big sister. The compliments were flowing her way and rightfully so - she totally rocked her outfit and was so good throughout the session! As you can see the small pumpkins and apples were a definite hit!
Thank you again D family xo
This couple is very dear to my heart and it was an absolute honor being able to photograph their beautiful wedding day! Kyle and Brittney made the long drive through the majestic mountains all the way from Edmonton to Vancouver. The venue they chose had a location many can only dream of, the Brock House. Green grass, tall lush trees, the ocean and soft beach sand. The sun peeked through the clouds throughout the day and just before the ceremony there was a light drizzle to help usher everyone down the rose petal sprinkled aisle on the lawns. Thankfully the rain held off for the latter part of the wonderful ceremony, family portraits on the lawn and some bridal portraits on the beach during sunset... and then the heavens showered down in celebration for the remainder of the night! I loved witnessing the love shared not only between Kyle and Brittney but also between their families and friends - celebrating this couple who have such a heart for people. The speeches always get me, and theirs was no exception. There were big open mouthed laughs and those juicy eyed emotion filled moments. Kyle's groomsmen were hilarious and full of fun from beginning to end! Brittney's bridesmaids had the most lovely gowns. Their younger siblings were part of the bridal party and their hearts and faces were beaming with pride of their big brother and sister. You could see just how special the occasion was for both of them! And yes, their parents and grandparents were gushing as well - just as they should be with such a great couple!
The reception was full of dancing and laughter: Thriller, a mother-son dance that became a Macarena flash mob, and then of course the ever important father-daughter and first dance as husband and wife! It was a beautiful wedding day from beginning to end!
I have to give a special thanks to Stacie for being an amazing second shooter!

This dude has such a big, contagious smile! You have to agree - super cute, right! If you know him, you will totally get the Union Jack theme! So grateful his mom had a flag we could include in the session. It made for a fun cape! And which little guy wouldn't want to be a superhero for a few minutes? He sure makes one adorable super dude! Thanks for being such a great sport L! xo
I had a blast spending fun with miss E... She is such a little lady and just plain sweet. She had a lot of fun running and dancing, twirling and playing. And if that was all not enough .. she tells the cutest knock, knock jokes! She has a great sense of style, just like her mom! It was so great being reminded again about the joys of childhood - being carefree and joyful in the little things! Thank you for being so special miss E. I had a big bunch of fun with you! xo
Well I never imagined that I would get to see wallabies, kangaroos, and adorable joeys ... especially in Canada! It was such a wonderful surprise to hear about Kangaroo Creek Farm while recently exploring the beautiful Okanagan. If you are ever in the area be sure to pay them a visit - it was a fantastic experience xo
It was such a blast getting to spend a beautiful summer evening photographing Michelle and Aubrey while getting to hear first hand about their love story ... a high school friendship that connected years later by fate! You can clearly see how both Michelle and Aubrey adore each other! They are a super sweet couple with a super fun outlook on life - and incredibly adventurous! Let's just say sky-diving was on their itinerary for the week! It was so great spending time with you both xo
